Amr Abbas, MD

Amr Abbas, MD, FACC, FSVM, RPVI

Board Certified Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Echcocardiography

    Dr. Abbas graduated from Ain-Shams University School of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt, after which he completed his Internal Medicine residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. He served his Cardiovascular Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic as well as Chief Cardiology Fellow at the Mayo Clinic, in Arizona and his Interventional Cardiology and Peripheral Vascular Fellowship at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

    Dr. Abbas is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Echocardiography, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac CT angiography, Vascular, and Endovascular Medicine. He is also a registered physician in vascular interpretation. His knowledge and experience is being utilized in the areas of clinical and interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular disease. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Oakland University- Beaumont Medical School. He has authored many articles on echocardiography, interventional cardiology, and peripheral vascular disease. He has also written multiple book chapters and is a reviewer for multiple peer review journals. He is actively involved in the education of the cardiovascular fellows at Beaumont Hospital and has conducted multiple lectures in the field of cardiovascular diseases. He has been acknowledged in the publication The Best Doctors in America. He is the Co-Director of the Echocardiography Lab and Medical Director Interventional Research at Beaumont-Royal Oak.

    Salim H. Ahmed, MD

      Dr. Ahmed received his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (New York City, NY) and completed his residency at Parkland Hospital, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas, TX). He completed his Clinical Cardiology and Electrophysiology Fellowships at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (Cleveland, OH) and is Board certified in both Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. Dr. Ahmed will be on the medical staff at both William Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak and Troy.

      Dr. Ahmed speaks fluent English and will be accepting new patients at our Beaumont Northpointe Berkley office.

      Hazim Al-Ameri, MD

        Dr. Al-Ameri received his medical degree from the New York Medical College (Valhalla, NY) and subsequently completed his residency at the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, CA). Dr. Al-Ameri completed his Clinical Cardiology Research Fellowship at Good Samaritan Hospital, Heart Institute (Los Angeles, CA), his Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship at Providence Hospital and Medical Centers (Southfield, MI), and his Electrophysiology Fellowship at Beaumont Hospital (Royal Oak, MI). He is Board certified in both Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and will be on the medical staff at both Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak and Troy.

        Dr. Al-Ameri speaks fluent English and Arabic and will be accepting new patients at both our Beaumont Northpointe Troy and Berkley offices.

        Julian J. Barbat, MD

          Beaumont Northpointe Heart Center is pleased to welcome Julian J. Barbat, M.D. to our medical staff effective July 31, 2017. Dr. Barbat received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, MI, and completed his residency at the University of Chicago, IL. He will complete his Cardiology Fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak, MI, in June, 2017, where he is currently serving as their Chief Cardiology Fellow. Dr. Barbat will be on the medical staff at both William Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak and Troy beginning July 31, 2017.

          Dr. Barbat will be accepting new patients at our Beaumont Northpointe Berkley office.

          Aaron D. Berman, MD

          Board Certified Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology

            A graduate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, Dr. Berman completed his residency at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston followed by a clinical and research fellowship within the Cardiovascular Division of Harvard Medical School’s Department of Medicine at the same hospital. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

            Prior to joining our group, Dr. Berman was a Director of both the Cardiac Fellowship Program and the Morse Coronary Care Unit at Beth Israel Hospital while being an Assistant Professor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston. He currently serves as Department Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine and Associate Physician-in-Chief.

            Dr. Berman sees patients at the Berkley Main office, and is on staff at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and Troy.

            Richard E. Gordon, DO

              After graduating from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Dr. Gordon served a one-year rotating internship at Flint Osteopathic Hospital. He then completed an internal medicine residency, as Chief Resident for one year, followed by a cardiology fellowship, as Chief Cardiology Fellow, at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

              Dr. Gordon is board certified in both internal medicine and cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

              Dr. Gordon sees patients at the Berkley Main office. Dr. Gordon is on staff at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and Troy.

              Sujana Gundlapalli, M.D.

                Beaumont Northpointe Heart Center is pleased to welcome Sujana Gundlapalli, M.D. to our medical staff. Dr. Gundlapalli received her medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, where she served as their Chief Cardiology Fellow. Dr. Gundlapalli has been in Practice since 2013 and is on the medical staff at both William Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak and Troy.

                Dr. Gundlapalli speaks fluent English and Telugu. Her primary focus will be providing quality inpatient care while improving clinical outcomes at the William Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak campus.

                Andrew M. Hauser, MD

                  A graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School, Dr. Hauser completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical Center.

                  Dr. Hauser previously served as President of the Detroit Heart Club and the American Heart Association of Michigan. He is the Founding President of the Michigan Society of Echocardiography and, in addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians, he is also board certified in both internal medicine and cardiology.

                  Dr. Hauser sees patients at the Main office in Berkley, and is on staff at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and Troy.

                  Monica Jiddou-Patros, MD

                    A graduate of the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, Dr. Jiddou-Patros completed her internal medicine residency as well as her cardiology fellowship at Beaumont Hospital. During her residency she was awarded resident of the year and the year prior, intern of the year.

                    Dr. Jiddou-Patros is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease as well as nuclear cardiology. She has a special interest in Women’s health. Her knowledge and expertise is being utilized in the areas of cardiology, interventional cardiology, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. Dr. Jiddou-Patros speaks fluent English and Chaldean; she currently sees patients at our Troy and Berkley offices and is on staff at Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak and Troy.

                      Dr. Man graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and University of Michigan. He also completed a fellowship in pacing and electrophysiology at the University of Michigan. In addition to being board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and electrophysiology, Dr. Man is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

                      Prior to joining our medical staff, Dr. Man was an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Director of Cardiac Pacing at the University of Michigan. His knowledge and experience is being utilized in the areas of pacing and electrophysiology (arrhythmias, pacemakers, implantable defibrillators and ablation therapy).

                      Dr. Man speaks fluent English and Chinese; he sees patients at the Berkley Main and Troy office. He is on staff at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and Troy.

                      Dominic L. Marsalese, MD

                        Dr. Marsalese graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency and served as Chief Resident at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He then completed a cardiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where he served as Chief Cardiology Fellow. Dr. Marsalese also completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.

                        He is Director of the Chest Pain Clinic and Co-Director of the Interventional Fellowship Training Program at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Dr. Marsalese is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Medical Association. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology.

                        Dr. Marsalese sees patients at the Berkley Main office, and is on staff at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and Troy.

                          Dr. Nori graduated from Case Western Reserve University, School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He then completed his fellowships both in cardiology and Electrophysiology at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.

                          Dr. Nori is board certified in Internal Medicine, Clinical Cardiology and Electrophysiology. He is working in the atrial fibrillation clinic at Royal Oak Beaumont. In addition, he is a member of the American Heart Association, Heart Rhythm Society, and the American College of Cardiology.

                          His knowledge and experience is being utilized in the Areas of heart rhythm disorders. He will manage electrophysiologic disorders with non-invasive and invasive approaches (pacemakers, defibrillators, electrophysiology studies and a full spectrum of ablations).

                          Dr. Nori sees patients at the Berkley and is on staff at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and Troy. He is also on staff at Providence Hospital in Southfield.

                            Dr. Rabah graduated from University of Health Sciences Medical School in Kansas City and completed his internal medicine residency as well as his cardiology fellowships at Beaumont Hospital, where he ultimately served as Chief Interventional Fellow.

                            Dr. Rabah is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Rabah is actively involved in cardiovascular research and has numerous published articles in major cardiovascular journals.

                            Dr. Rabah sees patients at the Berkley Main office, and is on staff at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and Troy.

                              Dr. Shoukfeh graduated from Damascus University School of Medicine in Damascus, Syria. He completed his internal medicine residency at Michigan State University Associated Hospitals while serving as Chief Resident and Teaching Associate.

                              Dr. Shoukfeh then completed a cardiology fellowship at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, where he served as Chief Cardiology Fellow. He also completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at Beaumont Hospital with further training in peripheral angioplasty at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

                              Dr. Shoukfeh speaks fluent English and Arabic; he sees patients at the Troy office and the Berkley Main office. Dr. Shoukfeh is on staff at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and Troy.

                              Steven B.H. Timmis, MD

                                Dr. Timmis graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine after which he completed his residency at University of Michigan Medical Center.

                                He served as Chief Cardiology Fellow during his Cardiovascular Fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois and then completed his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship as Chief Fellow at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

                                Dr. Timmis is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is a member of the American Heart Association and the Michigan State Medical Society. He currently serves as Director of the Coronary Care Unit at Royal Oak Beaumont.

                                His knowledge and experience is being utilized in the areas of Interventional Cardiology.

                                Dr. Timmis sees patients at the Southfield office, and is on staff at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and Troy.

                                  Dr. Westveer graduated from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He then com­pleted a cardiology-electrophysiology fellowship at the University of Illinois. Dr. Westveer was co-author of the examination for special competence in cardiac pacing.

                                  Dr. Westveer is the former Chief of the Department of Cardiology at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, member of the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology and is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and electrophysiology.
